Enduring Beauty: Weaving a Dine Family History

Contemporary Theatre - Wakefield, RI

Monday July 29, 7PM

Lynda Teller Pete will be at the RIWC at the end of July giving two workshops. She will be offering a free presentation to the community on Monday July 29 at 7PM at the Contemporary Theatre in Wakefield (327 Main Street). Lynda is an internationally known Navajo weaver, author, and expert on Navajo weaving traditions. There are no tickets or registration - first come, first serve. The RIWC will be open prior to the presentation so you can see a Navajo Workshop in progress. Please join us.

Understand the tie ups, threading and treadling rules for the Summer and Winter weaving structure. Take this workshop with Jill at the RIWC before she heads to teach it at Convergence!

Navajo Weaving

Join us for a 4-day workshop with one of the most renowned teachers in the country. You will learn Navajo weaving techniques, make a small woven rug, and gain an appreciation of Navajo culture.

There are 2 workshops dates: July 22-25 and July 27-30.

Registration closes on July 15.

Rep Weave

Everything you wanted to know about rep weave including an exploration of a variety of materials, setts and techniques.
